4 types of routes

Continuing the conversation about comfort on board, it is worth mentioning that all stages are currently divided into 4 types, and they will have completely different levels of comfort:

🏔️Coastal - the most common and most comfortable type. There are 4 participants on board with me. Everyone has their own cabin and I live in the salon on the right couch. The crossings range from 50 to 150 miles per day. Anchoring or in a marina, in most places, parking takes place according to the format: mooring in the evening, trekking the next day, and going to a new location the next morning. Four people can handle any sailing task, fit perfectly into a tuzik at a time, fit perfectly into one car for a coastal program and get along great all the time, each with their own personal space.

🌊 Offshore - crossings without visible shores for several days. A few days at sea depending on the location and a few days ashore with an onshore program. It is clear that there is no place to hide and wait out the weather on the shore, so there will be less comfort. I'm trying to keep the old format and hire only three people to the team. If this is an Offshore-Ocean border event, the team will consist of six people with me.

🧭 Ocean - the longest crossings in the open ocean. Of course, when traveling around the world, you are in the ocean almost all the time, but here we are talking about crossings for more than 10 days without a shore. Six people aboard with me, two in the cabin. All shifts are 4 through 8. Since our ETA (estimated time of arrival) depends on the weather, we go from point A to point B and spend the rest of the time traveling along the shore at point B.

🏆 Race - racing in a new region with a full team of nine people with me. Everything will depend on the type of race, but I will also try to make these events three weeks long: the first week is a training session, the second week is a race, and the third week is a trip on the shore. If you have to fly to New York or Sydney to the other side of the world, then for at least three weeks. Accommodation will depend on the type of distance and race format.

Four different types of events form four different types of participants, each with their own approach and level of comfort on board. In the future, I will talk more about each type separately.
