During my school years, my grandmother and I lived at her work, behind the closet in the showroom, and I will tell you more about this in more detail. But in a nutshell, every morning I walked 100 meters through the art gallery to get to the washbasin. When everyone was leaving, I could spend hours walking around the showroom looking at the exhibitions at the editing level, or playing in the library, whose door was hidden behind a mirrored wall, and I thought it was a top-secret place. Some of the exhibits didn't attract my attention at all, and some I returned to every evening after the visitor hall was closed.

We once had an exhibition dedicated to Roerich's life. At that time I had already seen his works in the Russian Museum, but it caught a glimpse of it. And here we can say that Nikolay Konstantinovich came to stay at our house for 2 weeks. They were just posters with his works, but I was so fascinated by mountain stories, their grandeur and their difference from the plain world I'm used to.

Life in the library back then was like living with constant internet. Everything you need is in your file cabinet, you just have to search alphabetically. I read and reviewed everything we had on Roerich and very quickly fell in love with the Himalayas.

The picture I saw in front of me as a child is still in my mind. In this picture, I'm walking in silence through the Himalayas. I'm not young anymore, I have nothing, and my journey is almost over, but I'm calm and happy from every day of the rest of my life. Sometimes I'm torn by the memories of the journey I've traveled. Unfortunately, there's no place left and I'm just moving forward.

My vacation started on Monday and I went to the mountains, and I wanted to spend the last weeks before my 40th birthday right here. This is my second visit to Nepal. Last time we went to Annapurna Base Camp, and it was absolutely unforgettable. This time we're going to Everest Base Camp and our team consists of former Sailing Time alumni and instructors.

I wanted to ask you if you would like me to post stories from our trip here. After all, this blog is not about yachting, but about traveling. If so, I'll take a break from stories from the past and introduce you to this part of my life.
