I had all the tools I needed to start forging my happiness. A new yacht, a new school, a young bride and everyone's support in all our endeavors. I remember making plans for the New Year and my birthday to make everything work out, but at the same time realizing that, in principle, everything is already working out and quite well.

My main goal was to make people happy and make them fall in love with yachting. At the beginning of my journey, like everyone else, I followed a well-trodden and understandable path. At that time, yachting was more like a meaningful vacation, but it increasingly felt like a vacation. We met people on Saturday and left for the nearest bay in the evening. After two weeks of traveling with theory and practice, we returned to Marmaris, where we took exams. On Saturday morning, on the pontoon, we cuddled people we had already fallen in love, followed by people we shook hands — and it all happened again. All life was cut into pieces for two weeks and counted by the number of bands per year. With such a schedule and such dedication, we ran out of energy very quickly, and it seemed like we were living for others to make them happy. And the realization of personal happiness came only in flattering speeches about how well done we were and what a great life we live.

Over time, I began to change my work schedule in my favor: checking in on Sunday, leaving on Saturday, mid-course Saturday was a day off for everyone; the first day was training in the bay, the first two days were training in the bay, and the first three days. And then I realized that groups were getting stronger and training was getting better. There is always a breeze in the bay, and we have to make hundreds of turns, run out of traffic and dock in a difficult marina much more often. And for more and more days I can spend the night on the beach, parting with the band not only for sleep, but also for a few evening hours.

Training has made more sense. I came up with special exercises to develop my primary skills, and I grew more and more into an instructor, realizing that it was beneficial for me and for those who really wanted to learn within the already short time frame.

Optimizing work processes became an obsession, and I spent all my free time answering all the questions before they were asked. Planning a calendar 18 months in advance has become completely normal and commonplace. You always know where and who you'll be with for the next year and a half. I kept improving the quality of Sailing Time, as if I was upgrading levels in a computer game, but at the same time I was losing the quality of home life familiar to everyone but me. I believed that as soon as I made everything automatic at work, I would be able to fix everything at home right away and retire by the age of 40. But that was not the case.
