X-41, which was apparently trade-in at the shipyard, after which it was brought to the status of a new yacht and sold to my graduate. X-Yachts has a tradition of naming yachts using the letter X, and I suggested keeping its original FOX 🦊 name — short and nice for a fast racing boat.

To be honest, I didn't even realize what instrument I was in my hands and how to play it. At the beginning of the season, I took part in a very small regatta where her only opponents were Farr 40 and M.A.T. 12. Imagine my surprise when I was first on the top sign for the first time in my life. I remember even confessing to the team that this was a new situation for me and couldn't hide my joy. I taught yachting there for a whole year and periodically took part in races. Somewhere it was pretty easy to stay in the top three, and somewhere I was stable in the middle of the division. Every day I realized that I was not ready for such a yacht yet, that neither my management skills nor my tactical decisions matched her qualities. I think I only took part in five regattas and walked a couple thousand miles during the school season. The yacht owner put together a professional team for her and started racing in local races very successfully in the following years. At the moment, it has been sold, and its new owner is even better than the previous one, even with the constant rotation of crew members. I saw her more and more often at a distance and never stopped dreaming of my X.
